Hello! I am V. Sheree Williams

I am originally from Illinois, growing up in a suburb of Chicago and caught the California bug thanks to a summer college internship in San Francisco.  Those three months changed my life and when I arrived back home, I quickly told my parents, “Mom and dad, I am moving to California.” I did so more than 20 years ago.

Since the 5th grade, I have been passionate about telling stories through words and now visually through photos as well. Through VSCE, I look forward to providing consulting expertise to businesses looking for a communications strategy to grow their business or publishers wanting to build an impactful media outlet.

In addition, I enjoy collaborating on editorial and photography projects, providing editing services where extra attention is required as well as teaching others how to use the power of storytelling to amplify narratives that show the greatness of humanity.

Here is a little more about me:

  • James Beard award-winning publisher and journalist
  • Publish the world’s only media outlet, Cuisine Noir, that connects the African diaspora through food, drink and travel
  • 2022-2024 James Beard Foundation Award Judge
  • Approved Getty and Shutterstock contributing photographer
  • Member of Black Women Photographers
  • Specialty Food Association Trendspotter
  • International speaker on topics of diversity and pressing issues as it relates to the food industry and publishing
